Based on an abundance of caution over coronavirus concerns, group tours scheduled through the Welcome Center have been cancelled through the remainder of the semester.
We continue to monitor this pandemic closely, and the health and safety of Rice visitors, students, faculty and staff remain our highest priorities. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Rice campus in the future. For COVID-19 updates, please visit coronavirus.rice.edu.
As our Houston neighbors seek an occasional break from the monotony of our countywide "stay home, work smart" routines, Rice would like to remind our guests that they are welcome to enjoy designated areas of the campus provided social distancing guidelines and city and campus regulations are observed. Details of these Campus Coronavirus Safeguards may be found here.
Thank you for helping us keep our entire community safe by respecting these important health guidelines.
Whether you walk the campus on your own to admire Rice's unique architecture or come with a group and follow a student guide, a Rice campus tour is a memorable experience. For prospective visitors, several options are available:
Want to see the campus before ever setting foot here? Our virtual tours feature panoramic, 360-degree photographs of the people, buildings and landmarks that make Rice such an enjoyable place to study, work and play.
Prospective Rice students in grades 9–12 and members of their families should contact the Office of Admission to join one of their regularly scheduled admission orientation sessions and student-led campus tours.
Guided tours for groups of elementary, middle school and adult visitors are offered by the Rice University Welcome Center Monday through Friday. We regret that we are unable to accommodate groups larger than 40, and reservations for group tours must be requested at least two weeks in advance. Please click here to schedule a group tour.
Visitor parking is available in the Founder's Court Visitor Lot in front of Lovett Hall. To access the lot, enter campus through Entrance 1 or 2 from Main Street. The lot will be located on the left. If the lot is full, West Lot 1 is your next best parking option. Visitors can expect to pay about $3–$5 per hour for parking with a maximum daily limit of $12. Parking lots accept only credit or debit cards.
